Squatting is simply the best exercise for your legs. A lot of people won't do it because it's hard work. It takes your whole body and puts you through physical. I am here to make it easier for you.
The best way to still get the same benefits from squatting and take less of a toll on the whole body is to use a smith machine. A smith machine will take a lot of weight off your back and allow you to focus more on your contraction between glutes and quads.
A smith machine can be useful in so many different ways, especially when it comes to leg exercises like squats. When used correctly, the machine will help prevent any back injuries and you will have better form. I would recommend using this if you are a beginner or you have back problems from squatting with free weights.
Some of the benefits you get when you use a smith machine is the bar is connected to the pole, it does not move, allowing it to have much better form. This makes you very stable and holds the weight still. The smith machine also provides very good isolation on your quads; it allows you to move slowly, giving more of a burn to your quads.

If you need an alternative to hitting squats but still want to get a great workout, I would highly recommend trying this. It hits the same parts of your legs.
I personally started to do this when I had lower back problems and stopped squatting. I still wanted to squat and get the same benefits from it. This was a awesome replacement.
I learned a ton of great information from Ryan Jewers, who is a coach and social media influencer. Also, I discovered smith machine benefits, which took my lifting experience to a different level. They provide great tips and tricks with the smith machine.
This will take your leg gains to a whole new level. Start taking advantage of the Smith machines, and you will start to enjoy squats way more and make extreme progress.
